Stellan (formerly First) is a cub and one of the main protagonists in the books. His mother is Svenna, and his father is Svern. Stellan is said to be powerful and appears to be much less energetic than his sister, Jytte. He often takes time to think these things through. He seems to believe that his sister can be somewhat ignorant at times, but also admired her for her fiery attitude. He is also a riddler. His aunt, Taaka, forced him to change his name to Fourth, despite being much older than her three cubs. He has a toothewalker skar on hir furry white legs.

The Quest of the Cubs[]
Stellan and his sister, Jytte were taken by their mother to Taaka's den, where they were forced to eat old cub-meat. They escaped and decided to find their mum and went searching for her. They got their names a little after they met Jaimeson and went on their way. They met Uluk Uluk and he taugh them how to stop a clock.
